Alexander Daniel Kestler has arrived!

He was born on July 25 (Saturday) at 3:51 pm via c-section after induction wasn't working as planned. He weighs in at 5 pounds 11 ounces and is 20 inches long - but he definately looks longer than that!

35 Wks - Heading for the Home Stretch

We had an Ultrasound today and everything looks good he is growing and moving and seems to be on track for everything maybe a bit of larger head and little above the average for weight but no Matt size baby :)

I of course had to share another picture and his arm is in the way but he kept moving it around but this one looks like he is smiling so I picked this one. And the other is sort of a side shot.

I will post a picture of me later since I haven't done that in awhile we have them they are just a little scary for me to see.

Our little guy

We had an Ultrasound last week and they did a quick 3D one to see if they could get a better picture and it was so crazy I mean he looks like a baby I can make out his little nose, ears and well his whole face. He kept hiding behind the umbilical cord but you can see his little face.

So I had to share he is Baby Boy Kestler.

Hospital Bag

Yep I bought a bag especially for the hospital...well sort of. It can be used at the Hospital and will work nicely as my "personal item" when flying haha take that airline companies.

I have been wanting a new canvas bag which this was and has the shoulder strap which I also wanted and I thought it should be bright so I don't lose it. Which throw that all together you get this crazy number. FUN!
I will also share a picture of my new purse once I get it. I have a Mother's Day coupon for one Coach purse (thank you Mike) and now I just need the store to open here.

The Mythical 3rd Trimester -Finally!

So I have finally made it to the 3rd trimester and here is a recent pic. August seems so far away until I start counting down in weeks then I get a little freaked out thinking about all the stuff I need to get done.

I have a doctors appt tomorrow so I will be hearing the heartbeat which I love and will never get tired of. Also something I am loving (although I am sure it will be painful soon) is all the movement I feel.

I feel like I am already getting to know this little guy's personality. For example I was trying to get Mike to see my stomach move since I was sure you would be able to see it from the outside without touching the belly. But every time Mike turned I would see him move (hello sneaky) anyway I said well ok now he just thinks he is funny. And BOOM he let out a huge kick and my whole stomach moved big time which Mike was a little nervous about. Mike was super surprised at how much the ol tummy moved. He is most active or I can feel it more when I am sitting so I think that means he doesn't like waistbands which I couldn't agree more.

In other news Stuart is coming to visit since he has a wedding down here so I may sneak a picture of him onto the Internet haha.
Sarah's wardrobe provided by Amy - thanks for the shirt it is seriously one my favorites :)

Baby Room and Birthday

wanted to share some pics of the baby room which of course isn't done yet but it's coming along and it's easy to imagine our little guy in his room. We had Mike's parents here so it was nice that they could see the room and of course we had a great time they were even here for Mike's birthday. I got Mike some camo shorts and had to buy a pair of little guy shorts so he can match Daddy :). Mike probably won't be happy with my morning pic but it's cute to see the tiny shorts.

On the room front Mike painted and we have slowly been receiving the furniture. I had to take a close up of the lamp Mike's mom got us it's so cute. Our theme is animals. Oh and he already loves the glider I was sitting in it yesterday he was going crazy. I have been feeling a lot more movement this week that feels more than just the flutter it feels like and actual kick. I love it!

20 weeks - Halfway There

To me pregnancy seems to be dragging but when I look at the fact that I am halfway there that just seems crazy. For example I had my 6mo check up at the dentist and was scheduling the next one (6mo down the road). Anyway normally I go on my lunch hour and they asked if that would still work but then I realized oh wait baby boy will be here what do I do with him.

I know are lives would change when the little guy gets here but there are so many things I think about like we can't just run out to the movies little things that you take for granted. But I can't wait to meet him.

I can't wait to see what he looks like who does he look more like just everything. Every time I think about I get crazy in a good way :)

Mike did paint the baby's room and we ordered our crib, dresser and glider I can't wait for them to get here so I can really set up. I will post pictures.

Oh and I had to post two pics because there is one of Katie and she is totally staring at the belly too. I am still in that in between stage where people aren't sure if I have just been enjoying more food or if that is actually pregnant belly.

Funny Christmas Videos

Ok I totally forgot I downloaded these from JibJab during Christmas. I have yet to show my brothers but I am sure they would enjoy them.

It was hard to find pics of them that I could crop down but you get the idea

19 wks or 5 1/2 Months - same thing

So after having a lovely chat with my cousin she made me realize that I have hardly had any pics taken while I was pregnant to help track everything. I think I have one at 12wks and that is about it. So I took one today just so I can start and hopefully I will be better.

So here I am at 19wks feeling good not too sleepy or sick just hungry. Currently most of the weight has gone to my hips/thighs and butt yah just where I wanted to add more poundage. I was really hoping to balance everything out with the tummy. The lower belly has started push out more just a little hard to tell here with the white shirt but it is there trust me. Plus I am getting the top belly so only a matter of time until they swallow my belly button and become just one giant belly.

Announcing Baby Kestler is a...

A BOY yep we found out on Monday and are still in shock and of course excited and now I can't wait to to meet the little guy that was moving around so much on the black and white screen.
I always look forward to any doctor appt. because I get to hear the heartbeat but the Ultrasound is the best because I get to see him. He was very proud to show off that he was a boy and if you look you will notice that his hand is right down there too. I guess there aren't many toys in there but I already got that Mom feeling like aahh not now in front of the doctor.

I am so glad we found out now I can call him "him" and start planning the nursery. We bought the bedding yesterday and looked at more cribs. Mike is really getting into what will be in the baby's room I think knowing helped us connect more if that is possible. Either way it was great.
This week it will be a 2 for one kind of a deal because I also have a doc visit so I get to hear the heartbeat again.
I am sure when the little guy will be happy to hear mommy posted pictures of his area on the internet.

Maternity Pants

So I have been trying to hold off on getting/wearing maternity pants but I might not be able to keep that up much longer. I am down to about one pair of regular jeans and two work pants. So I did order some clothes from Old Navy maternity and bought one pair of jeans.

Maternity clothes are so crazy but I won't go into my struggles there. But I got these jeans and the back is normal and the front basically just has this stretchy waist band. So I wore them and hello comfy city I may quit the fight and just wear them all the time.

FYI I am trying to contain myself we get to find out what we are having VERY soon I don't know if I can take the waiting.

Wild Animal Gets Loose at Boise Zoo

Well not really but close enough, Shandra does look nervous to have him jumping up from behind. When the niece and nephew came down to Boise for a visit with Matt we promised we would take them to the zoo.
Well and Daddy just couldn't let the photo opp slip by him

This is your captain - just hold it

Ok so I am planning my work trip for DC in May and of course I have already had a freak out and it reminded me of my trip to Chicago.

At my last appt I made sure I had the ok to travel to Chicago at the end of February and then I thought oh what about in May and she said just to make sure to drink plenty of water/walk or move my legs because pregnant ladies are more at risk for blood cots - good to know.

I was only going for a few days so packed the carry-on very lightly and had my aisle seat. As I put on the seat belt I noticed how much more of the seat my thighs seem to cover ( I can only guess the seat was under me). All my weight has gone below the belt. Anyway I start thinking about my trip and May and how big will I be then and will I fit what about the seat belt will that make it around my belly aahhh.

I somehow manage to keep my calm and the flight begins. Well I of course have to go to the bathroom I would like to point out that throughout the course of the flight the seat belt sign has not turned off due to turbulence. So I just stare at the seat belt sign willing it to turn off and it does but they recommend not walking. Too bad I have to go so I as I begin my wobbly walk down the aisle the light goes on so I sort of attempt a quick walk which I run into 2 sleeper oops. At this time the plane is seriously tilting so it sort of moves me quicker to the bathroom and the attendants are a little surprised as I crash into the door and say I can't hold it.

If you have ever gone to the bathroom on a plane you know how small it is now add some up and down movement I was afraid to get up. Then the pilot comes over the speaker saying to make sure we are all in our seats. So I figure I better go for it so I manage to stand up while leaning against the wall to wash my hands (sort of in a squat like position). Get the door open and the attendant who has been wondering what happened recommend maybe I should just sit at the last seat but it's in the middle and I don't want to deal with squeezing in so I begin my march back up the aisle well after wobbling back and forth I did make it but I cannot imagine flying when I actually have a belly and my whole center of gravity is off.

Plus I am pretty sure my seat neighbor thought I was crazy since I was constantly picking up my legs and then stretching them out. Since I was also freaked out about blood clots.

So yes a random drawn out story with the point being wouldn't it be nice to have more bathrooms on the plane or let me use the one in first class whichever one I am closer too.
Also if I am pregnant don't ask me to get your bag down that happens to be carrying your whole collection of Britannica Encyclopedia. Yah no problem buddy I got it.

Baby Kestler - yep that happened

So I had the dream of updating our blog at least once a week and realized that has not happened so I am really going to try and get better.
Plus now would be a good time to share the news. Yep we are having a baby I am 17 1/2 weeks along right now almost at the 5 month mark which I just realized after reading one of my many baby books. Also known as the second trimester.

So far I have been really lucky during the first trimester (pic of the baby at 12wks) I didn't have any morning sickness just really tired I felt like 2pm was closing time and needed a nap which was hard to hide since I hadn't told work. I did have one horrible cold which made it hard to sleep/breathe and of course I couldn't take anything.

As far as cravings go I would say FOOD in general I am just hungry all the time it has gotten better but if I skip a snack look out.
The next big thing is finding out the baby of the sex in just a week! I can hardly wait I have been holding off on buying anything which has been really hard! Everyone seems to think girl and everyone I know that is prego is having a girl. Mike is saying girl and I will be going with boy I think only my mom and I are saying boy. I can't wait to find out! I am actually trying not to count down the days because I am afraid it makes them go by even slower.
Oh and here is an update I know this is called the "Honeymoon Stage" and I am sleeping better but thanks to a burn from an iron on my leg I only sleep on one side and I toss and turn so that makes it harder. Plus the last two days I could barely drag myself out of bed. I think I need a day after having family stay with us for the weekend I could really use just a day to relax.
So this was a long one and a bit random but now it's current so hopefully I am better at keeping the blog updated.
